2. Berliner Leseabend der toten Sprachen
After the successful introduction of the Leseabend der toten Sprachen (LetoS) to Berlin this summer, we were thrilled to host this semester’s Christmas edition in the dignified halls of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences.
The program showcased six captivating performances in ancient languages predating the common era, including Proto-Indo-European, Akkadian, Ancient Egyptian, Hittite, and Vedic. Additionally, it featured six texts from the common era, spanning Latin, Old High German, Bohairic Coptic, Old Norse, Old Lithuanian, and Gothic, along with Early Modern Welsh, Old Church Slavonic, and Koine Greek.
